Leadership Roles

The role of leadership in my capacity as a Senate Page is rather strange. So technically, since this is my second legislative session, I am considered a Senior Page. This basically means that I answer all of the questions one of the new pages is lost doing a task…oh and I’m also allowed to do constituent services, which always a fun time.
But in terms of the leadership that is present, there is definitely a role that I play in leading my fellow pages in what is and isn’t appropriate behavior and actions whilst involved in senate activities. I am the one who often rallies together the group to complete a task, and am the one to keep them motivated when the task lasts longer than 5 minutes and makes us break a sweat in our heavy page oxfords. I enjoy this role, as I’m a trust mentor to many of the new pages who are still trying to learn the ropes of the whole senate world.

I am proud of my fellow pages, especially the new ones, when they take the necessary initiative to get a project done or complete a laborious task that isn’t necessarily fun, but rather what is needed to be completed. These simple actions allow them to demonstrate leadership in setting a good example for the other pages to follow.
